QMI is presently working to make the Walter Parker house in Woodland, North Carolina ready to host workshops group meetings, and retreats for individuals and groups. Known as Friends House at Woodland, the retreat center can house 9-15 persons overnight. It is located just over a block from the historic Cedar Grove Meeting House, home of Rich Square Monthly Meeting - the “mother meeting” of North Carolina Yearly Meeting (Conservative). The facilities of the meeting house, including the library, lunchroom building and First Day School wing, are available to retreatants and workshop participants by arrangements made in advance.
Friends House has already hosted Young Friends year-end retreats and provided hospitality to adult
Friends attending Representative Body weekends. Other events will be scheduled as our increasing
capacity permits. For more information about scheduled events at Friends House, or to inquire about
